A faux commerical for the faux cd “A Very Carson Christmas” brought to life by Jim Carter following an interview with Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, and Jessica Brown-Findlay on the 12/23/2011 episode of The Jonathan Ross Show.  Featuring Carson’s renditions of bits from pop songs including Adele’s “Rumor Has It”, Rihanna’s “Only Girl (In the World)”, and Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies.”


Another Rod Stewart song, “Maggie May” (1971), as used by PBS for a minute-long montage of choice clips of Maggie Smith’s portrayal of Violet, the Dowager Countess.


Patton Oswalt tweeted a reference to Rod Stewart’s 1981 song “Young Turks” after Cora read her daughter Sybil’s letter announcing her pregnancy.
